A lot of people have a lot of differant ways they say will make you popular on deviantart. Some say comment and fav a lot of peoples works. Other's will say draw fan art, other say just make art.

I've read a few journals from people which talk about this. The only example I have right now is Kero's "The Road To Popularity... "[link]

While I agree with all of her points about become popular on deviantart. I have recently figured out what truely makes one popuiar. Being popular in the first place.

My first hand example was when I commisioned the talented Garun to draw for me. When I got my art, she hadn't uploaded it to dA, so I decided too upload it to mine for the time being. Since I wanted it somewhere else then just on my computer.

On my account 6 people favored it a few days time. When Garun finally got to uploading it she got 300+ favs in eight hours.

So, why does the same works of art get such differant results?

On deviantArt doesn't just deal with the best art but who is sumbiting it. The more popular you are, the more people see you and the more popular you re-become.

While I hope to reach epic levels of fame some day and also hope not just to be popular for populars sake. So next time I get jealous of other people I'll try to remember that.
